Transfers from Zagreb Airport to Rijeka

To get to your destination city takes between an hour and 45 minutes to two hours depending on traffic. The easiest and most convenient way to arrive at your destination is to book a car in an advance.

Taxi from Zagreb Airport to Rijeka

A ride costs around $160USD. It can be found at the passenger terminal which is located on the ground floor of the arrivals level of the terminal. The way to the rank is well signposted throughout the terminals.

In order to prevent problems with the language barrier and any issues with price gouging, it’s best if you order a car through an app, rather than just turning up to the air hub and hoping to find one. the two best apps in Croatia are Cammeo and EkoTaxi. Ideally, you’ll want to download those apps before arriving.

Uber also operates in much, but not all of Croatia. Although they do operate around the major air hubs and touristy areas. It’s important to keep in mind that for such a long drive, some Uber drivers may either charge extra, or turn down the fare.

Public Transport

Getting a bus can take between 2 hours and 15 minutes to four hours depending on which bus you take.

The cheapest option costs around $10USD but does take almost four hours. The fast option costs $20USD and only takes two hours and 15 minutes.

The faster option is also the more convenient of the two as you get on the bus at the air hub and don’t have to get off until you arrive at the destination. However, it only leaves once a day.

The cheaper option involves two buses. The first one leaves every 30 minutes and takes you into Zagreb, if you miss the connection, you’ll have to wait an hour for the 940, K943, or the N958.

From Rijeka city, you will then, of course, need to make your way to your accommodation. Which, depending on how far away from the bus station your rooms are, could require the additional cost of either a cab or an Uber.

Alternatively, you could take a transfer, which is faster than public transport and cheaper than a cab. Your driver will help with your luggage and deliver you right to your accommodation.

About the Route

The journey from the airport is a relaxed drive through the Croatian countryside. So, while there isn’t much to see, it is only an hour and 45 minutes with little to no traffic. And the trip through the country will make you appreciate the spectacular waterfront views.
